You can actually make an espresso using an espresso machine. This machine is much like a coffee maker but it has a different look to it. Unlike an ordinary coffee maker where you can commonly see a transparent glass pitcher on top, espresso machines often take on a square form, and if you haven’t seen one before, you would have entirely no inkling that what you are looking at is already an espresso machine.
Basically, there are three kinds of espresso machines. You have the semi-automatic espresso machines, the automatic, and the super-automatic. Although there are still other classifications of espresso machines, these three are the most common, of which the semi-automatic ones are more popularly used at home.
The semi-automatic espresso machines actually came to the market way back in 1940’s. At first, espresso was made using the piston operated machines. However, when the semi-automatic version came about, it readily replaced the piston operated ones. In reference to its name, it is not fully automated where you can simply push a button and let it make that espresso that you long for. You have to stand near the machine, in order for you to be able to operate it and make the best espresso that you want.
Usually, brewing starts upon pressing the “on” switch. You just need to wait for about 30 seconds until the entire process is done. In about 30 seconds, you could actually get around 2 ounces of pure espresso which would literally keep you awake afterwards.
The caffeine content of a small cup of espresso is very high that a regular cup of brewed coffee cannot simply beat its effect in terms of keeping you awake. It has potency 6x higher than that of a brewed coffee. However, if you have already been used to the strength of an espresso, then you can say that drinking one cup of espresso is just but normal, while for those who have not been used to this, you will definitely feel the jolt hit you.
So if you want to have a cup of espresso every now and then, it would be a good idea to choose among the semi-automatic espresso machines that are available in the market. Nothing could wake your senses better in the mornings, or whenever you feel lethargic, than a good cup of espresso.
